Yes, I know, another thread and I’ve read the others.Using just GP in matchmaking didn’t and doesn’t work, it’s just lazy. The characters are too complex for it to work.I’m matched against players I simply have no chance of beating which seems pointless in a competition.I’ve been fine being outgunned in the GP of my top 60. The main problem I’m now facing is my opponents have Revan, DR, Malek and G13s. I don’t have any of these.This has gone from a great game mode to a completely mismatched waste of time.CG please tweak the matchmaking algorithm to include meta characters as a start to make championships more competitive.

So essentially for many players you didn’t buy Malek so this isn’t a competition you have any chance of winning.

No but the only info I can find is related to GP. Previously I won some & lost some but always had at least a chance to win.I can’t improve my roster to beat Malek until he’s rereleased and then there’s DR, Revan etc. It isn’t realistic anytime soon.Why not just match me & others to similar rosters creating a healthy competition?

There are established counters to DR + Malak that do not involve Malak, you could have worked on them to improve your roster. Better yet, one of them is also important in the new TB so you have two reasons to improve them.

Again, note that the player with G13 DR team and you are fighting for the same rewards. Do you think it would be more fair if they only faced G13 DR teams, when they clearly invested more time/money in their roster, while you only got matched against equally underdeveloped rosters?

So essentially for many players you didn’t buy Malek so this isn’t a competition you have any chance of winning.

The majority of players had to spend with the new gear introduced & how quickly the event arrived after DR.

Players that were massive hoarders or spent are rewarded through placing top in Arena.

I don’t see why GAC can’t be matched a little fairer.

I mentioned I don’t have Revan and I don’t have a well enough developed GG team so I don’t have a counter.
You’re missing my point though, why not match me to a player with a comparable roster so at least we both have a competitive enjoyable game?

They can't match every single roster exactly.

If they did, people would have no incentive to improve.

But curious what your GP and division and league are? In my current bracket the MM is extremely close and I could lose to any of them and probably will lose if I have to face 1 or 2 of them. I'm at 3.8M GP.

I'm guessing probably the most extreme mismatches happen at the top or bottom of the GP curves. There are just fewer people in those areas.

I was referring to JKR + Thrawn, GG, and Padme (also have heard NS whispers from some) as counters to DR, with an emphasis on GG.

Based on the current matchmaking definition, you have been matched with a player with a comparable roster by having used a similar number of resources on your top x toons. This is a championship, and your opponent has the better roster. They invested money/time in meta characters and are reaping the benefits. This leaves you with two options: Improve your meta counters (like the FTP GG team) or keep complaining on the forums hoping that the devs change the formula to help you
