I wouldn’t be surprised if the empire removed it for him. The whole theme is them getting away from the inhibitor chips that can malfunction and more towards people who want to serve the empire and swear fealty to the empire.
He obviously felt betrayed by the Bb but also sees an opportunity for purpose in the empire rather than just running around behind hunted.
All in all one of the best episodes. Subverted expectation of the BB just removing his chip and everything be ok but didn’t do it just for subverting expectations sake (aka GoT).
