That's the difficulty of a microtransaction game. If it were only a monthly sub, the devs would probably spend more focus on balancing the characters. But how do you expect someone who paid $400 for a maxed character to react if you suddenly lower that character's effectiveness to make them no longer stand out as much as they used to?
