Cad Bane: Make him the "Poor Man's FOTP"?
Ok, so EA recently blessed us F2P gamers with Cad Bane available in GW shipments.
His description makes him sound like a stud: High damage attacker with a powerful stun and bonuses against Jedi characters.
The sad fact is that his health is pathetic, his damage is even more pathetic, and his stun gets resisted a lot.
Compare his stats to the character he most closely (in my opinion) should resemble in regards to use: First Order Tie Pilot
(Comparing Level 80, 7*, Gear 8, most attainable for F2P)
FOTP Health: 10517
Cad Bane: 9879
FOTP Protection: 5162
Cad Bane: 4224
FOTP Speed: 113
Cad Bane: 107
FOTP basic attack dmg range: 2912-3219
Cad Bane: 2399-2652
The realistic fact is that Cad Bane falls short in every aspect. The in-game experience is even worse, considering that FOTP basic attack has 90% chance of landing two hits with advantage, which he gets nearly every time his first turn comes around through his passive ability. Cad Bane is barely better than a 4* level 80 Gear 8 FOTP.
Cad's attack is insultingly pathetic for how low his health is. And a 27% potency at Gear 8 sucks hardcore for landing that stun/turn meter reduction. Did I got farm Cad's 100/100 shards for his 7* from GW? Sure. But mostly because I had a surplus of Arena tokens, and not much else to spend em on. I'm also hopeful for a buff. Cad Bane is in need of some love.
Cad Bane should be buffed to rival FOTP's utility. FOTP will always be a more reliable double-tap monster with a BRUTAL special attack, but Cad Bane should not be relegated to the wet noodle joke that he is.
