I wouldn't even deny that, but it doesn't mean that a certain demographic wouldn't also be open to having characters that actually have an impact on the current storyline and also interact with other iconic characters like Vader etc.
One man's junk is another man's treasure I suppose.
Plus, its worth noting that Disney might have their own agenda in terms of characters they want to promote. Aphra, for example, started off as a supporting ( albeit important ) character in the Darth Vader comic. She sort of became a "break out character" and it earned her her own title. And now she is in Force Arena. It seems like they are building her up. For all we know she could appear in one of the many planned SW films in the future. At this rate she will probably eventually eclipse the legends characters that get stuck in limbo and don't transition to canon.
