Cantina, Arena, and general advice, new player

New player here started playing in early and mid December. I have questions about what to buy from the Arena and cantina store. Lastly, I need some advice on what to farm from cantina.

I will list my arena team and characters I have so far. My arena squad is as follows: Baze, Rey, Chirrut, Jyn, and Boba. Each characters respective stars are 4,6,3,4, and 5. All characters are gear level 7 or 8. Only Jyn and and Rey are still g7. My overall level is 71.

My current problem is with the emperor event and stars on my current arena rebels, Baze 4, Chirrut, 3, and Jyn 4. From what I understand I need 5 star rebels to unlock Emperor Palpatine, which is why I been focused on acquiring Biggs from GW and Wedge from shipments. Alternate rebels that I been leveling and gearing are Princess Leia, Lando, Admiral Ackbar, and Biggs. My Leia is 6 star, Lando 5, Admiral Ackbar 5, and Biggs will be 5 stars after CW resets tonight. Given I have Baze, would it be better to not farm Han and instead buy shard from shipments to level Baze? Do I really need Han if I already have Baze. I already have Han unlock, but he is at 3 stars and if I focus on buying shards for him I could get him up to 5 stars before the event starts. I don't think I can get Wedge to 5 stars on time.

Another question I have is about Leia. Should I continue to farm her up to seven stars or instead focus on other characters?

What characters should I start farming from cantina nodes? Early on I started farming for Lando and got him to 5 star, then started farming Secura and Kylo. I bought the Kylo shuttle pack and my Kylo is 40 shards from being 6 star and my Secura has about 75 shards needed to get her to 6 star. Now I been reading that the imperial pilot and B2 droid are better. Should I stop farming Kylo or Secura and focus on imperial pilot or B2? I want Kylo and Secura for raid. Kylo I was planning on integrating into my main dark side team.


Another problem I have is with level and experience droids. I can't run dark side battles due to the large difference in level, 10 levels. Should I buy experience droids or should I wait. I would imagine once I reach max level, that

I also considered maybe it's my dark side team. My team consist of Boba g8, Kylo g7, Phasma 7 star g7, Geo Soldier g8, and Old Daka, g7. I had Dooku 4 star g7, but he wasn't doing enough damage so I switch him for Kylo. Geo Soldier is another character I want to switch for Vader mainly due to his star level , only 3 star.

Lastly, I bought tie attack pack and got stuck with a reaper. Is shore trooper worth buying. If I do buy him it will be through shipments and will remain at 3 stars for a very long time, but I could use him on my dark side team to more easily clear the dark side nodes.

    I'll try to address this as best I can...

    I heavily advice farming baze from shipments ONLY if you are top 5 in arena every day, or plan on buying crystals. If not, get STH because he will be much faster anyways. The rebels I recommend getting to 7* for the Emperor event are Wedge (cantina), Biggs (GW), Lando (cantina), then 2 of STH, AA, or Leia (all arena shipments).

    Also, regarding who to farm, I would choose one and stick with them to the end. It does no good to have several half-finished characters lying around. And yes, many of those are from cantina, but you'll have to make the decision if you want to go for the emperor, go for raids, or go for arena (which is likely a combo of some of those characters). TFP and B2 are good (though I despise that trash heap B2), but personally I'd take wedge and lando to 7 first, then decide if you want to finish off Aayla or Kylo.

    Oh god no never buy training droids. The time will come when you have enough to take every character in the game to max lvl, but you'll severely lack the credits to do so. Just be patient on that front.

    As for dark side characters, again, just give it time to develop. There's no rush to get anyone in particular immediately, and over time you can farm who you like and theory craft a fun team as a goal to work toward.

    And no, don't give a lick of attention to ships at this time. Just use what ships you have with what pilots you have and deal with that much later. Arena is far and above the most important for the daily crystal income, so make sure you prioritize that over anything else. Then probably raids, then special events, then faction events/mods, then after everything else, ships.

    EDIT: Actually, I think the first thing you need to do is hone your attention on just one or two squads. It seems that you're trying to accomplish too many things at once and getting lost along the way. Just chose a goal you want to hit first (i.e. Emperor, Yoda, raids, high arena placement, etc) and focus on that. Then once you are satisfactory in that goal, move on to the next.
