Capital ship ability upgrades

I was just upgrading Mace's ship and I noticed all of the abilities required prestige medals and only prestige medals to upgrade every ability on every level 1-5. It's been so long since I upgraded a capital ship but didn't they require the others medals for the lower level upgrades and prestige as you got to the higher level upgrades? Seems off to me, why have the others medals at all if they aren't required for anything?

    I think they always required prestige medals. But they also require smaller ones, which are also necessary for the non-capital ships.

    I didn't think so. I believe they have only need the gold ones and just in low quantity for the lower lvls

    FWIW once you get through top tier of ship mats challenge you'll get a steady trickle of mats including prestige, rarely omega, zeta. Boring.

    Cap ship abilities always have used the prestige tokens. That's what those are for . The other ship mats are for the fighters to upgrade their abilities .
