This will be my last comment because I'm guessing it's pointless to continue this any further. But it's much easier to look at a new character and think, "Neat", and walk away, instead of whatever it is you're doing.
My guy, please use your imagination. Maybe he carried the turret with his left arm? Absolutely insane to think about, I know, but it could be what happened. Or maybe the turret is one of many placed around a command center that he's stationed at? He looks pretty able to do the stuff his kit dictates that he does. He fires a weapon with his left hand and operates some devices. Seems pretty reasonable.
