It'd be great & not unfair at all, if the game somehow allowed players to catch up to players that have been with swgoh since 2015-2016 & beyond. Like after completing Daily Quests 365 times, the game could let you Max out any 6 Squads minimum, otherwise it's just a video game that says, "Sorry you weren't with us since or near launch, we don't let people catch up."

You can if you spend a lot. But if you don’t, why would it make sense for CG to let new people compete for free against loyal and committed long term players?

RE: OP, "instantly maxing out 6 squads" is definitely way too much, but they really should add some more of the older characters into shops or something. Somebody starting from scratch now would have, like, 2 years of farming just to get all the legendary/hero characters.

Hey, @TVF , just between you and me, CG gave me a maxed Empire squad on my one year anniversary. Yup, all 18 in the squad, legendaries included. It was sweet. To bad they don't do that any more.

A squad now has 18, I confirmed it with CS. Its because the negotiator can fit 18 pilots.

Where does 27 come from? There are about 170 characters in the game. Divided by 5 you get 34 "squads". This doesn't include ships.

Squads by title. e.g. Clonetroopers, Nightsisters, Jawas, etc.

You want 6 full factions?

The Galactic Republic "squad" plus the Rebel "squad" account for around 58 characters out of 170.

Give him Tuskens, Jawas, Rogue One, imperial troopers, Phoenix, and clones... See how good that does for him... Lol

No. I only have the Endurance and the Benevolence :s I wish there was a way to catch up to superior players like you. A way that didn't require any effort by me at all.

There is, but you have to join my guild. Anyone who joins this month gets 10 capital ships and a steak.

First, I agree that there should be a slingshot mechanic but I think you're asking for the wrong thing. Newer players would be much better off having easier access to gear, not shards. Characters farm relatively quickly but the wall really hits at g8.
My suggestion, continue to make newer characters require different gear while making older gear like stun guns, carbs, and biotechs much more available.
