CG, could you look at your Zeta economy?
to be clear: I'm okay. But I've been playing since Jan 2016 and I also don't feel compelled to add all the zetas to everyone.
What brings this concern to my attention are players with younger accounts than mine who talk to me on 50 Shards or in my guild or just chatting on Discord. An alarming number are very behind on these, and I myself am down from my peak number of zetas. I have enough that I'm not worried about it, but if the trend was sustained for another year or two, I could run out as well.
I don't think we need a whole report back to the community or anything, I just want to know that you're looking at how many zeta opportunities you're adding to the game per year and how many zetas the average account is earning per year. With Omicrons here, it might be time to slightly loosen the zeta supply (5-10 zeta mats per month would almost certainly be enough for me to maintain my supply indefinitely, though again my account may not be average since I'm taking #1 in fleet every day and I'm not sure the % of accounts that do that).
It's also possible that you intend for players like me to simply apply fewer zetas. Skipping one zeta every 2 to 3 months would be the equivalent of gaining 5-10 mats/month. But I already do skip zetas every once in a while and there are a lot of zetas that are important to the game and to a toon's performance.
So, like I said, I'd appreciate it if you just had someone give a quick look, talk it over for a couple minutes in a meeting. If things are WAI, okay, people need to get used to leaving more zetas unfilled.
Of course, it's also possible that instead of adding zeta mats to the game you could simply make 1 new toon's 3rd Zeta ability into an Omega ability every couple months. Surely not all of these need to be zeta abilities?
Reducing the rate of new zeta requirements would be equally effective as increasing mat production, and possibly without as many side effects on the economy.
But at some point catch-up mechanics for zetas will be needed for new players. I completely understand why the $10 packs don't include all the zetas for those toons, but as we've been discussing: the goal is to allow players to access the cool content you're creating, and zetas are part of that. Since I, myself, have spent more than I've earned over the last year I just thought consideration of the economy and your intentions might be good.
Anyway, thanks for the consideration. Be well.
