Ending let you decide. Light side ending he apparently died as a sacrifice or as dark side ending you become the emperor's new apprentice with sith armor. Obvious light side ending sets up story for sequel which sadly I wasn't a fan of as it was far too easy and not enough character development and story felt way too short considering you visited kamino twice and only like 2 other planets.
