Character acquisition should require the team(s) for which they are meant

Fundamentally, we...are...fans.

A few examples...

If I LOOOVE Emperor Palpatine, I likely want to use him with a sith/empire team because those are my boys. Rebels are not my boys. I chose my side...

If I LOOOVE Resistance, I am totally stoked about adding BB-8. First order are not my boys. I chose my side...

The battles can still be challenging, but in each of these releases there is an opportunity to feed the fans, the players. Releasing BB-8, require resistance and droids. Releasing EP, require sith and empire. Releasing Thrawn, require Empire (and fight AGAINST Phoenix).

Make it direct (not necessarily easy) to play the factions we love. You will love the response.
  • Imagine when palpatine showed up, I had full empire ready (when empire was garbage), was all happy about getting emperor to end the rebel scum, and what happened? they make it rebels to unlock it, so I could not get him first time. They do that so you are forced to farm toons you don't want, and some might end up using money for it. It's a cheap move, but it's a jungle out there as some would say. Strategy to get the max profit from the situation.
  • Pretty much everything in the game is about giving you a reason to farm/gear characters you would otherwise ignore.
