Chewie feedback

Recommended g11 Bh for tier 5 yet they have Tm preloaded... too bad g11 can’t equip sliced mods There goes cg/ea crapping on casuals yet again. Another event yet again, not tested, as usual.

I’ll be honest, I wish there was a more direct way to provide feedback to EA, but I’m legitimately quitting the game over this. I have fantastic arena mods, I’ve spent money, gear and time getting bounty hunters ready, with an expectation this event would be more difficult than past legendary events. And that’s fine! We should be challenged as players.

But this is utterly, absolutely ridiculous. Because you didn’t panic farm the RIGHT bounty hunters, because you didn’t peer into the heads of the developers and guess EXACTLY what they wanted from you, it’s worthless. Seven star, G11, arena modded bounty hunters, and I take one move and my entire team is dead.

And because we know that Chewy is planned as a requirement for Jedi Luke, it’s a knock on. Most players spent half a year gearing toons like Hyoda and Captain Han to get ready for Luke. Now, because we didn’t randomly panic farm two hard node bounty hunters, it’s all a waste. It’s frustrating, it’s insulting, and more than anything . . . it’s not fun. It makes the game not fun.

EA/CG seems to delight in setting up expectations, a basic structure for how the game works, then actively delights in subverting those expectations and random and laughing at the player base. This is an astonishingly bad experience.

I’ll say this.

A lot of people farmed Hoda and Wampa based on RUMORS of an incoming Jedi Luke event. Who knows what/if the event would require not knowing what CG is planning, but that’s the game.

For Chewie, yes it’s extremely difficult, a ton more than previous legendary events. It requires a lot of investment into bounty hunters to even have a remote chance of getting him at 7 star. From what I can tell, a lot of the people that did manage to get him ran teams that didn’t include the newest bounty hunters (Aurra, Jango, Embo). ZBossk and Dengar appear to be key, Boba Fett, Greedo, and IG88/Cad Bane seems to be the general consensus, and some luck with really good mods. If this event were easy, Chewie would be everywhere, but it’s hard, so it makes getting him more exclusive, and there’s nothing wrong with that.

If you look at previous legendary events, some have been a downright cakewalk, like Emperor Palpatine. There aren’t that many players without him, and because he’s so common to run into, he’s not very special at all.

Also regarding having to farm bounty hunters. That faction has been largely ignored until a few months ago. Before, you’d only have them if you a) liked Bounty Hunters b) credit heist c) territory battles/TW. CG have been adding quite a few events that require bounty hunters to make them more of a playable faction, so to say they’re useless no longer has any grounds.

The Chewie event being so hard only makes it much more rewarding if you do manage to unlock him, even if you can only manage 5 star.

I’m at 6* with way more investment than I made in the most comparable squad that comes to mind, Phoenix. That said, after getting Thrawn, I did continue to invest in Phoenix for the reasons you mentioned, Salatious.

I don’t mind harder. But we’re talking going from gear 8-9 to gear 11-12. That’s a BIG difference. 15-20 high-end gear levels is no joke.

Uhm.. no. You can't even start comparing those events to chewie's event.

Bb8/rjt/luke came after thrawn, and still were way easier to obtain than thrawn. So it isnt about new legendaries being tougher.

The only two reasonable explanations for this event's difficulty are,

a) They made this event this difficult as compensation for the relative ease with which BH are obtainable.

b) This is the new norm.

If it's A, i can understand. If it's B, i'm annoyed. And will prolly give up the Kotor farm.

What could have been a very exciting event for me has fallen short as a result, which diminishes the good work done by some (but not all). Nice try, but I’m sad to say I give this 2 Hans out of 5.

I'm going to address some of the cons:

Disparate difficulty: The event reqired a bit higher gear. Likely was to compensate for the fact that 4 of the 5 req were likely already 7 stars or if not easy farms. Now I'll concede that bossk is pretty req for the event. But he was really the only focus farm req and with the packs it was possible to 7 star him ftp. So no issue there. If you didn't focus on bossk as a bh, that is your issue not the developer's issue. We all knew his leadership was good when he was released months ago. He also has a good ship and is good in many parts of the game. So he should have been on your farm list from when he came out.

For gear level, yes g12 is the stated req but two things:

It is beatable with less. I beat the last tier with g10 bossk, g12 boba, g11 greedo, and g9 cad and dengar. So 1 g12 character. And boba has been good in the game long enough, if you don't have him g12 that's your own fault. He's worth g12 just for his ship. And bossk gear is pretty easy. I went from gear 8 to g11(the last gear level was after I beat the event) in a few days since most of the req gear is challenge gear or easily farmable gear.

Lastly, gear level req have to go up over time. With more raids/events dropping gear than ever, getting a character to g11 is about the equilivant effort as g8 was two years ago when you had only rancor and maybe haat for gear.

Now we have pit and haat on farm for most guilds. Tb and tw for even more gear and guild event currency to buy higher end gear. And the str raid for even more guild currency and guild event currency. And occasionally decent gear.

So yes, it does make since that g10 or 11 be req since you can get to g8 in a day for most any toon.

I don’t think RJT and Luke are easier to get than Chewie... they both require two full teams of resistance/first order or rebel/empire to get which is a lot of more investment in more characters. RJT also needs the vets and we all know how annoyingly long that takes.

They give off the impression they’re easier to acquire when they actually take more time and investing in.

When you say “gear level has to go up”, it should read, “it’s my opinion that gear levels should go up.” I agree that ramping up difficulty is just keeping up with an evolving game, but there is no law requiring it to up. The amount of difficulty increase relative to the investment necessary to keep pace is definitely much greater this time around.

You can get bhs up to gear 10 without spending money so your assumption of it costing a car payment is a bit disingenuous.

I unlocked 7 star chewie ftp, so soending money isn't required.

And the fact still remains that there are far more places to get gear than in the oast, which makes the same level of gear req much easier tgan it was in the past.

And yes, I do assume that power creep is real and that it is necessary. The game won't last long if they start putting up new characters that aren't better than the old ones. So it is a necessary part of their business model.

Also by the very nature of them using older characters for this event, he farming difficulty was minimal for most players. Most probably had at least 3 6 or 7 star bhs. So if they wanted to create a grind, they either had to restrict it to harder to farm characters or make the gear a bit harder. They chose the second.

You can argue that they shoukd just hand out the legendary. But I disagree. If there is no grind and everyone has the new character, it makes it much less useful. And putting the req at g7 or g8 bhs that are an easy farm, would pretty much be handing out the character.

yep. Dengar was important. Though he has been farmable in the guild store for years so, I find it hard to blame CG for those that don't have him.

And I also completely understand not having him before this was announced. I had him 6 star and farmed him to 7 star in the week before the event just in case I didn't get bossk there in time.

Guild store characters are easy to neglect due to constantly needing gear from that store.

Same here, it’s become a tiresome boring same old same old, gear 12 bounty hunters and gear 12+ on a few of them and it’s still subject to RNG, bored after 30+ attempts of seeing stuns or toons die before I get a turn, swapped mods but I’m so frustrated, time to QUIT and play PUBG which is a fair playing field or Konami have a similar app the looks promising, I will now go free to play on this game as it’s being ruined by greed and poor decision making.....
