Working as intended and being the best approach are 2 different things.
As for working as designed, sure it does.
As being the best, it lacks many things but it is much better than the one before in trying to match the wide diversity of rosters around.
Clearly they think this new matchmaking algorithm has improved the one before but they have stated they are working on an upgrade.
We all know it needs a fine tune and address many things already been said to exhaustion.
Let them give some time to fine tune it and we'll see if it becomes better. They are commited to get it better which is a good thing. They could've just said it will stay as it is forever.
