When dealing with large company's there can be a lot of political/processing issues that get in the way of EA/CG doing what would be better for the game. I'm excluding the possibility of them dropping the ball but I'm guess we never will really know unless you work in that industry/region personally.

I don't blame EA/CG for wanting to take advantage of promotion opportunities. But there are so many better ways of handling things than this.
