As I have mentioned in other threads, the fact of the matter seems to be that they prefer to play it close to the vest for a few reasons:

1) Yes, the "panic farm/sell packs" element is certainly one.

2) I do think that they are also being cautious about releasing information that might change - especially after what happened following the 5*, 7* back to 5* debacle. That cost them, both in terms of actual money and credibility.

3) Anticipation builds excitement - and encourages people to log in - both to the forums and the game. Excitement can also lead to spending.

4) Kozi and the other CG folks who weigh in can probably only "spill the beans" on things if they have been approved to do so. And often, that might even include the wording that they use.

I agree, it's frustrating at times. It's not new. But it is better than it used to be almost 2 years ago, when I started....not that that's a very high bar to clear. ;)

Pretty much the reason is the oldest sale technique know to man. "Buy NOW", "This deal is avaiable only right now so called 1-800 before it expired", "Buy now while supplies last". It pretty much what he wanted to say but really cannot for obvious reason.

It ok with me what company goes into business without profit in mind?

Having bought packs for phx and fo fo'sho! Money spent by some make it easier for people to be ftp. I just don't see this thrawn event as something as a panic spend is all. Could be totally wrong though.
