Yes people would have been angry. But at least it would have been forewarned. I'd imagine we are now in a situation that some people, who could previously go deep into hard Conquest, are stuck in the middle of sector 1 and may remain that way for nearly 2 weeks.
GP might have grown, but the units themselves have not gotten stronger.
Maxed out at L85, R9 with 6 pip mods is where we have been for a long time.
If there was actually some change that could make all existing units stronger, than (level increase, relic increase, new mods or tiers) than I could almost see a need to eventually boost difficulty.
Only thing that has changed is new units/teams have been added.
Contrary to the CG hype, conquest is not a test of your entire roster it is a min max of about 10 teams, which again are mostly the same as they have been.
