I believe you only need to clear all sectors to move up to the next challenge. I've been doing hard mode for awhile and my memory ain't so good. I don't think you need all the feats, or red chest, just clear the last boss on sector 5 and grab the disc reward.
I have completed all levels on easy but not letting me move to normal
