Conquest Hard Mode

For conquest hard mode, it states you have to beat normal mode before attempting hard mode. Is that just one time or you have to go through Normal each time before getting to do hard?

You don't get both rewards.

When a conquest starts, you pick normal or hard. You get the rewards at the end for that mode.

You have to beat normal one time to unlock hard. After that you always choose one or the other.
