This... the whole movie I was like... We’ve never seen this. Very very odd. But like other have said... Star Wars space is not real space. Maybe it’s a separate energy shell with some sort of... gravity... shell in it? Although I don’t see a advantage to not just shooting in a straight line. Whatever.
