That's only benefiting those who've been lazy about gearing pilots for a strong fleet so far. Some of us find it worth to relinquish other things for developing powerful ships. That advance is going to get negated by too many crewless ships - but I am not complaining about crewless ships in general, only that the decision was made against logic and lore.
