So, farming shard is 1/4 of the equation, you need Credit + Gears + Mods. This together, is the sum of your investment to access better toons, better toons can lead to better rewards, rewards give you resources.
Where are those resources.. they're locked into ranking tiers, given when you get your ranks in Arena, Fleet, and Raids + completing special events. There are limited ranks, so everyone has to compete or collaborate. So how do I get more resources? Oh, I need those specific toons - oh and I need them now!!
What! I cannot get them now -> Okay, I choose to complain because everyone else above me has them.

I'm not sure what you're getting at, besides attempting to be insulting, but you are way off base.

Credit Heist did not exist for a good portion of the first year of this game. Then it didn't exist in it's current form, with it's higher payouts & increased frequency, for many more months after that.

FOTP requires 330 shards to 7*. At 2 nodes and assuming a 33% drop rate, that's 2 shards a day. 330/2= 165 days to 7*. Sure, someone could shave that in half for 100 crystals a day, but no one except you keeps talking about p2p vs f2p in this thread, because it's completely irrelevant to the topic at hand.

Light, Dark, Cantina, GW, Challenges & Ship Challenges are not competitive modes.

Having the right toons or my "casual" nature doesn't change any these things. It doesn't speed up any of those things either.

A new player being able to star up a FO squad in half the time doesn't affect me in the slightest, not because I'm a casual, but because we literally aren't competing in any aspect of the game right now. They aren't in my Arena/Ship shards, and they aren't in my raids.
