If I said your casual playing style su-cks eggs, then I would be insulting you - which was not the intent of the message. You play it your way, and I play it differently. Both are okay ways to play regardless of the results.
The point is, early/easy access to hard-to-farm toons can be of great benefit to any (new) players - maybe not for Credit Heist. But, making Clone Sergeant, FOTP, FOST and Veers will allow them to advance much quicker in GW, Arena and Raids.
My P2P vs F2P reference is just that, if you want to advance, you have the P2Adv option, else, it's the hard farming as FTP like everyone else in the past/present & near future. Having the right toons - is everything... The nature of your play style determines how much resources you get. Getting access to right toons and resources can speeds up everything. To highlight: Veers Imperial Troopers are very good in GW and Arena. FO team also do well in GW and Arena. Clones are meta for HAAT raids.
A player being able to star up a FO squad in half the time is HUGE. It will affect you (and me), because we are literally competing within our own Guild(s) - right now. Your Guild members will happily beat you down the ranks in your Guild raids - its designed that way.
Thus, it is why the OP is requesting early/easy access to these toons. They know the value of farming these toons to complete their Clone/FO/Imperial Trooper teams and pilots. The quicker they get them, the better for them.
If CG turns around and releases all these toons, so be it. But the ramification upon the player base is ultimately more competition, whether you chose too realise it or not.

Edit: Will add in reference to an earlier comment. This is resource allocation and collection game.
The game is about using limited resources to advance. Opening up another farming method for these toons gives advantages by opening up different resources to be utilised. CG will have to balance call on that.
