Show me one post where anyone said they don't want other people to be able to farm certain characters. Explain how people who do the grind to recieve the reward are entitled. They're the ones who just got on with it instead of coming to the forums and crying about it like a huge annoying baby.
I share the OP's views on this matter so i'm a bit biased, but imo the ones that are crying and acting like huge annoying babies are the ones opposing this suggestion.
the whole "i did it the hard way, so you should aswell" argument is only valid to a certain extent and not much better than "i want said character so it should be easier to farm said character".
Having less desirable characters be super hard to farm isn't serving any real purpose. Well, if you consider having a mediocre character that is rather hard to farm something that sets you appart from other players i guess it serves that purpose, bragging rights of some sort.
