The value of your efforts is not affected by anyone else's anything. Just because 90% of the players have X doesn't mean the char isn't valuable.

As the game progresses, many chars have been made more accessible (i.e. all clones except CS, Rey, etc.). Not sure why the old hard node only characters should be the exception.
