Mods and generally speed was probably the issue.

Yup, basically if you lose on speed you lose the battle. Once basti puts out her debuff your team can't do anything.

My team was the DEFENSE...i was a bit puzzled when i saw the result...just dont want it to happen to me in the future...
So wondering what i should NOT do on the reverse situation...as i am not sure how it went...

Turn order and RNG can muck it up too. If they get one of your guys below 50%, and then Malak drains your Deathmarked DR before he can go and get rid of it, that can determine the match. I try to avoid mirrors in GAC.

If my DR team is faster than anyone on my opponents roster, it goes on D. If not, I save it for offense. Easy

Yeah I know. The opponent may have had a slower dr and/or bsf which would have contributed to the loss. "brangers" advice above is probably what you should follow.

From my experience, speed is the deciding factor. On attack, your DR has to be fastest The second fastest has to be Badstilla. In parallel, they both have to be faster than Badstilla and DR on the opposing team. If you fulfill these requirements, it is auto win even without relics. Lesson is, do not put DR on defense. That is the first mistake.

What others have said; speed is the deciding factor. In a DR vs DR battle, going first is absolutely crucial, since you will be ahead for the entire battle.

In that regard it doesn’t matter who is on defense, since the attacker will in most cases lose to a faster DR played by the ai.

Clarification. IMO, Dark Bastilla should be your fastest. If you can fear the fastest toon on the other squad then you should be ok....only if your 2nd fastest is DR. Alot to think about. But...if thier Malak is a beast, get ready for some lost banners.
