Wouldn’t it make more sense for the new character to be Darth Vader (Anakin) than General Skywalker? Darth Vader (Anakin) would have to get the 501st tag because that’s who he led into the Jedi Temple...

Fallen Anakin was still General Skywalker too. It was all the other generals who were stripped of rank and branded traitors by order 66.
But this game has plenty of doppelgängers already. I think of them in terms of movie episodes or shows. ST Han is Ep. 4 Han, Snolo is his Ep. 5 counterpart, and Raid Han hails from Ep. 6. I see no reason why we shouldn't get a Clone Wars Anakin (General Skywalker) in addition to the existing Ep. 3 Anakin. Fallen Anakin would set a new precedent since he's from Ep.3 as well.
