Datacron Cadence

The new format of how often datacrons come in and out so quickly is not sustainable for many players.  To be honest one conquest run is not enough time.  Let's say you complete conquest in one week, it only gives you a full week of farming cron materials and then they are gone.  On top of that we did not receive any data cache prior to the last set which made it so much harder and was a big limiting factor.  It took me a long time to open up and enjoy datacrons, but what you are doing now is just not sustainable for players and going to push more away.  I do hope CG is open to change and can look at making adjustments.

  • We'll soon have 4(!) sets in the game at the same time. What nonsense.

  • CG has f-ed datacrons so hard lately it probably falls under a criminal statute.

Well, they last as long as they did before, don't they?

As for sustainability, it's clearly to make more money.  So, I doubt they care.

I dunno, I think it'll take some time to get used to.  Firstly, this run just gone was different because we were 100 million in the hole because of no scrappage.  That definitely made it harder.  Then, there were the 7 extra FDCs.  If, we are only getting FDCs for the Eras now (plus the P2W ones in the store only) this will mean the other 2 months will be much easier.  You can also tailor your datacron farming by spending more crystals on specific Conquest runs.

I only could use 4 level 9s from the last run.  In the past, there have been double figures.  So for me, once we are settled with the new cadence, I don't think it'll make any difference.

For a few days, and not really that beneficial or game breaking.

I dunno.  I don't like it, CG are clearly trying to wring as much money as they can without doing anything meaningful.  You keep putting a cloth in water and it'll be wet to clean your windows forever.  You stop filling the bucket and just wring that cloth of as much water as physically possible, soon that cloth will be dry;  CG are doing a lot of wringing recently and it will kill their game.

That said, the new datacron cadence and having 3 sets.....................isn't that bad is it?  If anything for me, I have less level 9 datacrons to farm.  Now, we have 3 sets with 2 factions, that's 6 factions.  Before, we have 2 sets with 4 factions, that's 8 factions.  You need less level 9s.  As for level 6s, well there's only so many you can use.  So rather than thinking like the old way-"I need so many datacrons from the set".  You really only need 66% of those, as the shortfall is made back up from there being a higher cadence.

What did annoy me more, was upping the relic levels needed for crons without any warning or reasoning.  This really feels like a kick in the teeth for those that over-achieve in GAC.  As I wrote before, if they keep up with this way of thinking.  Finding new ways to stretch the wallets with a FOMO incentive, rather than exciting content players are happy to purchase......this games not going to be lasting that much longer.

One way to help with this cadence is to give us another way to get Mk2 DC mats. Either make them buyable with SSC , like the other mats, or add them as an reward to another mode. Because , at the moment, unless you are able to drop tons of cash on crystals or power through Conquest at lightspeed, then once that Conquest round is over, unless you managed to stockpile a ton of Mk2s ,any DCs you did not finish are more or less dead.
Yes I know this is all about making money , and they need to keep making that bag or EA/Disney will pull the plug. And I'm guessing the Marquee/Era changes have eaten into the profit they got from Marquee events.
They can at least meet us halfway.

The answer to that is "no"

"Instead of releasing every other month and lasting for 4 months, Datacrons will now release each month and last for 3 months"

  • And look at all those new Datacon packs in the store!!!! Fully unlocked Datacons for $30!!!  And they shortened the life of each set and think there going to get players running in with credit cards in hand excited about the Wampa Cron they might be able to use for a couple GAC seasons. I’m sorry $$CG$$ I wasn’t born yesterday your accelerated moneygrabbing is getting ridiculous. Maybe try and treat players like customers instead of figures on a balance sheet.

OK, fair enough.  I didn't really qualify my sentence.  Yes, they do expire more quickly.  However, you only have 2/3rds expiring compared to before.  Look, I'll be honest that I'm not the best with maths.  However, it works out the same, doesn't it?

  • No wonder they changed it. They make it hard to farm unless you spend money to get a good amount of sets, so what do they do to compensate for it? Sell us fully upgraded crons to help out for 40 bucks each or 100 for the higher end. Good job CG, you greedy *****.

  • Another problem is the L9 reroll materials.  We have less time available to get those materials from TW.  I think those are still unique from one DC set to another.  Though they can be bought for $$ or crystals.
