Datacron Disaster: Massive Resource Loss and Poor QA
Hello,
I’ve been playing SWGOH for around 10 years (+/-), and I feel the need to speak up about the current state of the game, because the latest era feels extremely discouraging.
7-star Spider Maul?
Requiring characters to be pushed to level 85 and 7 stars again and again — who is this content actually for? Please look at your own statistics. You are losing players, especially long-term ones.
Datacrons — seriously?
This has been a complete mess.
There was a Vader bug where a broken interaction with Omega made him effectively immortal. That was rolled back — fine. But what about the rest? The attacker datacron was clearly overpowered, then adjusted, then partially rolled back… and in the end everything was rolled back incorrectly.
Material refunds were also handled poorly. This has turned into a standard CG “fire drill” instead of a controlled live service operation.
Do your teams understand basic IT practices?
Do they understand what a test server, staging, deployment procedures, and QA testing are?
Because from the outside, this looks like something that should never have reached production.
If the issue is staffing or expertise — where can I send my CV?
This is not even about corporate-level complexity. These are basic industry standards.
Player losses and compensation
Personally, I spent:
4000+ MK1
2500+ MK2
I won’t even start on MK3
plus a significant amount of crystals
And now many players are left with nothing. Due to the 100M credit cap, even refunds were incomplete.
Press F.
Even if you roll things back again — what are we supposed to get?
More Chewbacca shards? For whom, exactly?
How do you plan to compensate:
resource losses
wasted time
frustration
and, most importantly, lost trust?
Do you understand what a business plan is?
What ROI means?
How player trust directly affects long-term revenue?
This does not feel like a new era.
It does not feel like a holiday season.
It feels unacceptable.
Something — or someone — clearly needs to change. Especially the people who designed this bug-ridden datacron system, the new “era,”
Thank you for your attention.
Kind regards,
A long-time player
