Dead Guilds
I recently discovered that many lower level guilds are dead, by which I mean all members 100+ days inactive. I thought the following very short story worth telling on the forums, if only to see if it matches anyone else's experience.
I've been playing SWGoH for about 1 1/2 years now. I've been a Guild Leader for the entire time. Recently, I decided to use my Lvl 71 alt to check out smaller guilds (1-15 members). I wanted to meet some new players and see if, perhaps, they might be interested in joining the guild that I lead. I thought this would be a more effective (and friendly) way to recruit than posting general want ads on the forums.
As it turned out, I was wrong. I hopped from guild to guild for a few days. Every guild I joined was dead. There's a cap on how many times you can switch guilds per day, so it took me awhile to realize that this strategy was a cul de sac.
As I mentioned, I'm unsure if this matches anyone else's experience. Maybe I just had really, really bad luck. But I ask because, as a GL, I want newer players to join us. We're 30/50 right now and our founding members can really help out daily players who are fundamentally starting out. With help, it doesn't take very long to power up.
Anyway, the problem is: How do these new players find our guild when there are so many dead and abandoned guilds out there? With the new Territory Wars fully on the horizon now, solving this problem is more important than ever, especially if my guild isn't the only one to experience it.
