Debuff Dismantler Not Working?

Not saying it is working, but it only dispels debuffs, and I will ask, because that doesn't change the visibility of the blue icon.

We’ll, it is unclear if you need debuffs to be dispelled in order to get the mastery increased. It says “and” so is dispelling debuffs a prerequisite to gaining the mastery or does it mean that there’s a 30% chance of debuff dispel “and/or/also” mastery increase? The wording would seem to make the dispel a prerequisite…but also: CG, so…??

Would you be willing to ask how this works, since it has now come up.

A reasonable reading would say that there's a 30% chance of gaining mastery whenever you gain a buff, but another reasonable reading is that this can happen **only if you have a debuff before you gain that buff**.

This is pretty crucial, since with, say, the auto buff disks (gain 3 buffs/turn) you gain all the buffs without any chance to gain new debuffs in between. So if the 30% procs on the first buff, all debuffs are cleansed and you have a 0% chance on subsequent buffs to gain mastery (since you no longer have debuffs to cleanse).

I've been wondering for a while now how it's supposed to work, and I'd love a clarification.

It'd be nice if the blue icon for mastery showed up for this too.

Honestly, I'm pretty sure this came up and I got an answer, but I cant find the post. I will work on getting clarification.

The way I read it is for each buff you get there's a 30% chance of gaining 15% mastery.

I don't read it as debuffs need to be dispelled in order to get that 15% mastery gain.

Clarification would be nice.

I’ve always read it as an all or nothing (you must proc the dispel to gain the mastery) - having run debuff dismantler for the last 3 Conquests (it is sneaky good!) I am fairly confident that is also how it works, and also that it doesn’t trigger a visible mastery increase symbol, but is definitely working ‘under the hood’.

Ok, so I have a slightly unofficial response. From our friends over at SWGOH, the code is such that it is 30% chance to increase mastery, and if that hits, it will also clear debuffs.

So yes, all or nothing on a 30% chance to happen.

I hope this helps clarify that ability. I have not heard back on if it is not working, so if anyone can share on that front maybe we can get this sorted.

It's a little hard to measure mastery increase without the in-battle indicator. When I get to the sector with the evasion feat, maybe I'll be able to to tell.
