To those using Teebo (L), Dengar, EE, QGJ, 5S....
Do you have/have you tried a maxed Phasma instead of 5s? I honestly think she is better then 5s in this setup... Why?
They both have an effective slow.. Yes...
The main difference is 5s assist attack vs Phasma Victory March... Here's my argument... Sure 5s has a chance to call qgj or teebo on his assist attack, but... Phasma's Victory March gives 50% tm, normally enough to get whole team enough of an advantage to go again before Rancor, and it ensures that next hit will be a crit, this is pentacle in making sure Dengar hits that Tenacity down in a critical situation.
My strategy was fast teebo, fast qgj, and super fast EE, feeding that much more TM to the whole team. Victory March was like the "use in case of emergency" endurance that Teebo would get another hit before Rancor went again, and I wouldn't have even thought of traded it for a 25% chance of Teebo assisting instead. Even if it didn't get teebo ahead of rancor, it would always get ee there with how fast I had him, then he'd feed 25% more tm to Teebo, and boom, Teebo is ready to go.
I tried a similar variant with Phasma and Dengar initially, but I found that Phasma's speed down was not reliable enough. Yes her VM is loads better than 5s assist, but if you miss the speed down or if it is resisted, then that's 3 turns you're left waiting. Dengar's speed down shouldn't even be considered here since it's only 50%, but I find the reliability of 5s more useful than the other benefits Phasma gives. Also she doesn't help when called to assist, where 5s will at least reapply speed down.
Maybe it's just with my mods setup the way they are, or rng, but I've never had an issue with keeping speed down on rancor between Phasma and Dengar. I agree Dengar's slow is insanely unreliable, but at least it stays through door coming up. Phasma's, with the 90% proc rate when omega'd, has never failed me in this situation. I'm normally applying long before needed anyway. There has been times when it has been resisted or didn't proc, but I haven't felt the sting in that 3 turn time yet. Like I said, maybe just lucky rng in that matter.
And she does help when called upon to assist... Defense down on basic.
I've got mine omegad too but it always gets resisted when I need it most lol. But I have notoriously poor luck with RNG in this game, so that could be it too
Defense down is true, but I prefer speed down from 5s since that helps control the fight more. But yes, she does do something unlike GS haha
Edit: by GS I mean him using his basic all the time when called for assists and just increasing rancor TM.
