When HAAT was launched it killed a lot of smaller guilds at the time as well that caused shuffling / consolidation. TB just is the most recent game change that challenges the structure of guilds. I don't see it as anything different from other changes the game has introduced in the past. Vets that have been playing since launch are now almost 2 years in - that's a long time to do anything - you're going to have vets jumping off over time just from doing something of that duration. Changes in the game / structure are often that final last little nudge for players getting fatigued anyway to hang it up. This happened with mods as well and I'm sure it will happen when the next big game mode is introduced.
I do think we are getting to a point soon though that's beyond normal veteran / attrition with how BIG the game is getting. I don't think TB pushes it over that tipping point, but we're getting close. The next sizable content push needs to come with an accompanying QoL / streamline update as well.
I would add by suggesting perhaps a slight case of miscalculation. TB was originally slated for 12 hour phases, and the community response led to the phases being 24 hours where it's been ever since release of TB. There may be a lesson in that nugget of fact and a required alignment between CG and gamers. I simply refuse to play swgoh during work hours, and it's paid off with a sizable bonus for this year from my employer because instead of playing a game, I worked hard doing my job. There is such a thing as a work/life balance, that can be extended to work/life/game balance when viewed in the eyes of swgoh. I don't know what the answers are, and am only pointing out the obvious, and I'm certain CG has tons of internal metrics to consider. But sometimes a viewpoint needs to gain momentum at HQ before real attention is given to it. With Guild Wars and DS TB on the horizon, giving some attention to the work/life/game balance may pay huge dividends. In the era of smartphones, CG is pioneering new gaming models to ensure greater successes for today and more importantly - tomorrow.
