Difference between crit damage vs crit chance?

What's the difference between crit chance and crit damage? I see lots of crit chance on wedge, etc, but actually crit damage would seem more valuable but I know there is an actual difference but what ...

Remember, some characters crit alot. Aayala does, as do Leia (and she gives crit chance up) Wedge/Biggs, honestly, most Rebels do.
Except Luke, because then he'd do his job :P (jk. Maybe)
