I still have my main account in a high-end guild, but a while back I created an alt, played it up to level 50, and then stopped spending energy so I can just play Galactic War once per day forever. Takes me back to simpler times, when GW was a challenge, but not a horrible one. It changes every day. There's only so much worse it can get b/c you're not in range of enemies gaining zetas.
I totally recognize that this isn't what most people want, but if you want that early game experience, you can still have it in GW. Just don't spend energy and don't collect the dailies that you complete and you won't gain XP (or, rather, you'll gain it very very slowly b/c some feats you can't help completing accidentally) and you can hang out in that innocent wonderland forever.
All that early stuff is still there. You just have to recognize what makes the game fun for you and make the choice about what you want to prioritize.
