Exactly. He's a requirement for GL Kenobi, which requires him to be at r3, I believe. What better time than now to rework him? But maybe they are waiting to rework him when they release GL Kenobi.

Mace duh

Have they reworked any other character one they became a gl pre-requisite? I don't recall that happening.

Krennic and Royal guard spring to mind as toons people thought could do with at least a touch up after being required.

So I don't see a connection pointing to rework here.
