I’ve been gaming since the 80s and online gaming since 2001, I’ve never ever encountered an online game that allowed me to play on a device or gaming system that totally made my device obsolete and unable to play because of the games update like EA/CG and their precious Galaxy of Hero’s.
I started playing this game on a ipad2/it worked fine until ships were released. Kozispoon said my minimum spec device was no longer supported to play this game even though I spent money and time 1.5 years prior to ships released.
So I bought a iPhone 6, it also worked fine until TW and GA was released. Then I started experiencing crashes/lag and freezes.
Recently I bought a iphone10...figured I could at least play this game another couple of years before I had to change my device up again.
Point being....,the developers focus more on money than on older device supports for this game.
Like I said earlier..... this game is the only game I’ve played in all my life to where I need to buy a new device every couple of years if I want to keep playing. I look forward to the day I get sick and tired of the constant meta chase/money grabbing/poor updates by a developer team that doesn’t have the community’s support in mind when they create updates.
There’s a game I’ve played for 7 years called Order and Chaos. It’s a free roam mmorpg that has decent graphics/constant updates and it’s never required me to purchase a new device because of the updates they’ve created.
If a game you played on day 1 perfectly fine doesn’t work after updates....it’s not the fault of the device but the fault of the developer.
Even online PC games don’t do this shady type of business...and those PC games require a lot of specs from your device to work.
This game is a turn based not complicated low graphics design by gaming standards. The fact that you need to constantly upgrade your phone because of their updates is really dumb.
I feel sorry for people this will effect because I also have been screwed over like this in the past. Here’s my post with the developers reply:

What was that about online gaming not changing minimum specs?
I played WoW for a year before moving on. I’m sure if WoW did this to players so would a mediocre phone game company would to. This is the thing though.....needing to buy a new phone to continue playing a game that worked perfectly fine before isn’t the norm.....and it most certainly isn’t something that happens all the time.
Since this is happening...companies need to question their update methods and decide if this is something worth doing(alienating those with older devices or making their updates aline with all devices to keep the players that have been playing continue to keep playing).
As others said “most people don’t have $800 bucks for a new phone”, thankfully I do but it still doesn’t make what EA is doing right. And it most certainly doesn’t help their pockets when things like this affect my decision making when committing to making a in app purchase.
I’m sad this is happening but I’m also glad it happened. Years ago I felt like I was taking crazy pills cause I was the only person on the forums complaining about this...and EA isn’t about to listen to 1 single person....now that it’s affecting more people maybe they’ll take notice and do some research before releasing a update that screws over many people. And maybe they won’t care but one can hope at least.
