I heard those words before arena introduced to world of warcraft around Ahn Qj times.. Well you miss the point ; not everyone shall contest in higher pvp ,it will be for more intesive pvp players.
For more casual and safe pace plays ,there will be pve content soon with raids and stuff.
Then you know how arena went with resto druid/lock. But blizz' team had the balls to make balance changes and make them often. Does this team has what it takes? This is EA, not Blizzard. They also launched a mmorpg (SWTOR) and you see how it went. The Tortanic was the first game in history that went f2p that fast.
