i dont really feel the need to be honest. Empire teams are widely regarded as a major power in arena mid game due to their controlling game.
But they have only 1 healer and 1 cleanser compared to the Rebels which have at least 5/6 healers and around that many cleansers! There are still some major Empire characters missing like Colonel Yularen, Governor Pryce, Doctor Aphra and etc. that could fill these roles. Just because the Empire is already a major faction doesn't mean that it shouldn't get more characters and further expand it's roster."swgohfan29;c-1641224" wrote:

i m gonna agree with that, but your title states that a need exists for cleansers and healers. I disagree because the need does not exist. I m totally fine with more cleansers and healers being added to the roster, but there is no NEED for that.
Whatever i already made my point!"ElPedro;c-1641868" wrote:
personally i don't think that the empire needs more healers. yeah, i'd agree to more cleansers or cleansing abilities but if you think about how the empire works, i don't think healers would fit. they are more in overwhelming the enemy and don't care about losing some units or squads because, well, there are enough. on the opposite, the rebellion relies on every single man so they need to keep them alive. maybe the empire could get more health drain or other ways to heal by damage dealt but i wouldn't introduce empire healers
Look now, the healing/reviving mechanics are not restricted just to Light Side teams, there are Dark Side toons who can heal and revive too. The Empire does need more healers as they currently have only one healer toon. Enough with this dumb logic "the Empire is already a strong faction, they don't need more toons"! Adding more toons like healers and cleansers will bring more variety and flexibility to their roster, especially for TB."ElPedro;c-1642014" wrote:

I'm not saying that there should not be more empire characters because there are too many. all i'm saying is that from a lore point of view the empire doesn't care about healing wounded troops because they allways had their strength in numbers and never hab to care about single individuums.
Well you should read more because the Empire did in fact field and use medical droids, medic troopers, IMSU (Imperial Mobile Surgical Unit) prefabricated medcenters and etc.- If you think empire needs more healers you’re either using them wrong, or don’t have your teams developed enough. Empire’s strengths are speed, control, and quick kills, not sustainability. If you want to play a team that is big on healing, use Nightsisters. Talia works as a pretty good cleanser, as well. No single faction has, or should have, the ability to use every single type of strategy. They all have their strengths and weaknesses. The goal is to play to your strengths and your enemies’ weaknesses. And empire is very effective in that. TB is a breeze with EP and Trooper teams. A lot of the rounds, enemies don’t even get to take a single turn. As compared to NS, who have a lot of healing, but are much slower and can get taken down by strafing runs if you’re not careful.

The thing is only my Palpatine team scores a win while my other Empire teams get wiped out, believe it or not, they get shut down with tons of debuffs and huge damage, simply because they lack more healers like Shore and cleansers like Thrawn and all the while the rebels constantly heal and dispell themselves."Boov;c-1644492" wrote:

You can't win with troopers aswell as with your palp team? Somehow i don't buy that. Either you're lying or you don't really know how to use empire toons.
Or maybe they get wiped out, how about that!?
how about that? i would call that a direct result of not really knowing what you're doing...
And i would call that a direct result of Imperial Troopers lacking dispell to counter the ton of Rebel debuffs that simply shut them down! Is that so hard for you to realise?"JuliusSkywalker;c-1645612" wrote:
Empire got enough Healers/Cleansers because of Shore Trooper (Tank).
Shore is not a cleanser. He heals-partially. Ironically its not even good enough to be warranted on swgoh as being called a healer. Then if you consider cleansers? let's be honest. There is only one empire "cleanser"- Thrawn. And only if He's leading. This isn't a Barriss, Savage, or Treya passive type of cleanse, nor is it a team cleanse like Admiral ackbar or Chirruit to name a few. And that's cheap especially considering all of the self cleansing going around these days. I love the empire. They're all I run, All day, every day. And on an OG shard I take 1st in arena against top 50 Treya/Bastilla leads because my empire roster is strong in the force. If we were to be honest, we cannot pretend that empire- true empire is lacking. Remove Palpatine, Vader as Sith influences, and then cut out troopers (who generally need multiple trooper allies to function) and you are left with few and far between that can do anything beyond DS tb. GMF, TFP, RG, and Thrawn. It has been mentioned time and again that most of the troopers are designed for pve rather than pvp, which is garbage considering, most of the real competitive interaction against colleagues takes place in arena. That is where one ACTUALLY faces maxed teams intended to be the best of the best. And we all know how well the empire has fared in past meta's or current meta's. We're not even beginning to discuss the new Chewie. Who here is willing to go toe to toe against the next iteration of Rebel meta with nothing but empire? I will, because I'm not fond of rebel scum, but I doubt many of you will."CommanderRacheon;c-1650037" wrote:
I feel like Empire does not need more healers/cleansers because 1. They do a lot of damage fast and shut down the other team. That's just their strategy. 2. Empire is a lot like Sith where they don't care about one another they only care about themselves. And 3. Empire is one of the best factions already.
1. Already discussed this in length but furthermore, your argument falls apart If you consider all of the daze, isolate, ability block, that sith or rebels can throw down in relation to the empire faction. It used to be WAY back when, that it was the empire's strength in laying down massive debuffs that would actually debilitate the opponent. That has long since changed with rebels and or sith doing the same while doing massive DPS in the process. And that's before you consider the previously mentioned healing/cleansing those factions do, which- Thrawn is not doing on his own.
2. Even with sith you have, DN lead healing, Treya passive, or Savage unique. Just considering sith that's alot of team dynamics constantly in action.
3. What you're really saying is that "trooper"s are the best (subset) empire faction. And Thrawn is the best Character. Two troopers with GMF, aren't doing a thing.
There is certainly room for improvement. The success of Thrawn alone as a PVP character cannot imply that the real "empire" faction is grade A as a whole. insomuch as Rex's similar PVP forte means that the clone faction is grade A and not warranted for some boosting to be competitive with other top tier teams."Jermunji;c-1652175" wrote:

Chirrut and Hermit Yoda are two of the best healers in the game. Neither of them has the "Healer" tag.- I concur brother! :) Everything you mentioned is spot on. Only thing I'd also like to point out is that with the duality typing of Palp and Vader, any changes to specifically address (nerf) them happens to also pour over into HEAVILY affecting true empire from being effective arena meta's. Good example is looking at all the mechanics of the new Chewie. I know he's supposed to be a Palp/DN specific hard counter but inadvertently it b*&tH slaps DT in the face. everything Chewie does attacks three of the most viable toons to run in arena atm. The only one who's not seriously hit is Thrawn (thank goodness).
But alas, that is a different tangent, similar only in the respect that there's validity in the notion that the "pure empire" faction, less sith influence and imperial trooper interdependence has room for improvement.
Heck, maybe some additional toons (which I'm not saying I want necessarily) would help alleviate the dependence on the previously mentioned staples.
