I feel like this thread started as a satire. But poes law makes it hard to tell sometimes.
Who is leaving the game because they could not get a toon on day one?
I've seen no one on here reddit or the discord channels I frequent say anything remotely close to that. People were and are upset by a lazy poorly thought out event that seemingly rewards one side of a dyad more so than the other.
Some will quit.
As that proverbial straw can break the camel's back. A lot will put up with it simply out of our unrequited love with this game.
But nobody to my knowledge is upset or quitting because they could'nt day one it. And to try to reduce genuine concerns to such utter balderdash is a disservice to them and the community.
Four months of hype for what we got was unwarranted and unnecessary. If they'd just given a ballpark estimate for the release along with the full information the anger some have would have been greatly reduced. Players understand the game and that they won't and cannot always be on top. What they do want is common courtesy and respect. And I don't think that very many players have felt they've received that from this game in a while.
