If DarjeloSalas put some crystals into the marquees, he will have collected some Episode Points from character quests which means, at this point, if he's completed the F2P daily feats, would put him at lvl50 of the episode and into bonus crates. 

As an experiment, I didn't buy this episode pass because I wanted to see for myself what the timeline is on reaching lvl50 of the track F2P. I have not spent crystals on marquees--I never spend crystals on gamble packs. My Kleia and Vel are only 3 stars. I am currently on lvl 48 of the free track. There are still 5 more daily quests in this episode. I could skip a couple of them and still complete the whole F2P track before the next episode begins. 

No need to only take my word for it. I have receipts. 

He initially claimed he hadn't spent any crystals or money. Then he even got caught by claiming he'd gotten the currency from the Episode Trek crate. He couldn't have gotten the rewards from that crate without a Battle Pass. 

Well you can't reach the bonus crat right now without a battle pass 😏 

If he had the battlepass, his characters would be higher than lvl 24 and he would have reached lvl50 halfway through the month. I know because I had the battlepasses in Anniversary Era.

You’re wrong. I’ve got the bonus crate twice and have no battle pass. 

Not precisely true; if you got them to higher star levels, you could claim extra character feats. This can be done with crystals. Mine are only 4* and I got the token already and will hit end crate today. So someone only going as high as 5* (again, f2p friendly with enough crystals), I could see them having enough feats to have tapped final box a couple of times.
