You can completely avoid RNG by making your RC slower. I have the slowest RC in my fleet shard (177 speed) and I have yet to lose a battle. I can even allow a small degree of misplay and still win comfortably.
The downside of all this is of course that I cannot relic my BAM further and put 6* mods on him. That would also be the main reason I agree the current Fleet meta is annoying and concur we need a change.
