Yeah, I see people running R2 but for me, personally, he is a no go. Only lightsabers wielders allowed. Darnit OCD.
In that regard, I think a Jedi/hybrid team with Ashoka (Fulcrum) should be pretty viable actually, just imagine: zQGJ, GK, R2, FAT and Yoda.
