when did they decide to change these so that the final stage is lock if you have a 7 star ship makes the whole event useless also why did it start at such an odd time cg are you ok
I don't mean to attack you Rius, I'm just seeing some people saying what you're saying and it doesn't track with me so I wanted to rebut the logic - not you in particular, but rather the position that you've taken here that seems to echo what I've heard from a few other people as well.
Respectfully - any time they're taking rewards away for events that you invested to complete, it's a bad thing. Is this good for newer players? Sure, in the short term it's a good thing for them. In the long term, it's potentially a sizable hit on resources when in a game where every nickel and every dime counts. If they didn't want us getting shard shop currency from these events it should have been changed YEARS ago.
I see some folks saying, "I never did these because I already have the ship." If that's the way you want to play the game, that's your choice - but it's also saying, "this doesn't affect me so I'm fine with it." There's plenty of other people, like me who do every single event that shows up in the events screen - at least every one I'm not locked out of.
Players that are going to stick with the game are going to spend a lot more time with those ships at 7* than without them - that was true even before this change. But now those same players aren't going to get the benefit of having that extra currency and prestige (along with the rest of us) to build their rosters with for the years that they play after they finish those capital ships. It's not a good change.
If they wanted players to get these ships faster, they could have reduced the refresh cost dramatically for the bonus tiers and left the cadence and the shards alone. That would have been a win-win, and arguably a much smaller change from a coding perspective but instead they took the long way around and reduced player income.
I so want to be on their side on this - and I see that they're trying to respond to player sentiment and I appreciate it - but they wouldn't have to be doing that if so many of the changes over the past several months didn't feel so anti-player. I know that's probably not their intention but it's how it's landing for a lot of people.
Is it a huge amount of SSC? No - but it adds up over time. That being the case, why remove it? Who benefits from removing it? Why level up the bad faith and negative sentiment in the community over it when it could have been a truly positive change for all parties involved?
What complete and utter nonsense. They've reduced the refresh cost to zero for new players.
For those of us who have had these ships its a tiny amount of shards to lose over a month, and even over time its not going to hurt us as our developed rosters will have many more sources of income.
