Okay, I went through a 4 toons and found at least one mod on each that really deserved to be sold. But I should have done this first.
Speed set mods on Tanks? A 6-dot gold speed set mod with only +4 total speed?
No one should ever take your posts seriously again.

That was the wrong profile. DarjeloSalas found the correct one. The link is right below, if you're interested.

Thanks.
Took a look at 3 toons so far, 2 that weren't relic'd yet and 1 low-relic toon (StormHan).
The first had not great mods, but good enough to save on a character you don't use... except for one mod. It was a Cc% set bonus with no CC% on it OR +Off OR %Off.
CC set with Prot primary and +Def, +Prot, and +Health as the secondaries? Utterly worthless. So that told me a lot about how they value, sort, and sell mods even just from that one.
The second toon was worse, with a Pot set/Speed primary that had no Pot on it at all. 2x Crit Dmg set mods with zero %Off and zero CC% (one of the two had +Off, but to my mind that's not nearly enough to save it).
Again, those first two were non-relic toons, so you wouldn't expect the mods to be levelled and sliced (and, indeed, quite a number of mods were L12), but I'm not talking about number of hits or quality of hits, just whether or not the mod has stats available to hit that match the set bonus.
On StormHan (a low-relic toon, but still a relic toon) there were 3x Def sets and two of the mods had zero Def% and zero +Def on them. The Speed primary had only +Def and the Diamond had no +Def secondary. That's 4 mods I would have sold after revealing all secondaries, but I admit that I used to keep Def diamonds with no +Def back in the day, and some of those are probably lurking on disused toons. So only 3 of the 4 really count against them.
They clearly know what Han wants bc they chose mods with Pot secondaries in several cases, but the mods themselves were just ... not what they should have been to be worth saving.
Okay, for fun, let's do one more. One that we know gets use, but isn't at the top of their roster. I chose r5 FOTP bc it has the Omicron, so I know that they use it.
And they using a CC set and a CD set. The CD arrow is well done, with Speed primary, +Off, %Off, and CC% secondaries.
The CD triangle has a CD primary + Speed, %Protection, CC%, %Pot secondaries. This is fine. These days I only save the CDset/CD primary triangles if they have Speed + Off%. It's not a great mod. I'd want to get better on here eventually, but I'm sure I have these in use in my collection.
The Cross has only 6 speed and has been taken to 6-dot. I wouldn't mind this mod on JKL, Vet Chewie, or Droideka, since they turn low-speed into an advantage, but I wonder why it's in the collection if it's not on one of those specialized characters. This isn't a mod it's terrible to have in the collection, but it's weird to find it on omiFOTP.
The Circle is a CD set/Prot primary w +Speed, %Pot, +Protection, and %Off. There are good reasons to have a CD set with no CC%, and those reasons are mostly to use on FO squads who pump out advantage. But in that case you don't need any CC% at all, which makes me wonder why they have a CC set on the Square & Diamond. That said, even on a Phasma squad FOTP is going to get some advantage, so there's no harm with not having CC% in the secondaries here.
The Diamond Is CC set, +8 speed, CC%, %Pot, and +Protection. I wouldn't have saved this with a speed below 10, but it does have CC% on a CC mod. This is a damage dealer, though. It's not someone on a Finn squad who uses CC to fuel a TM train or someone like Aayla or Dooku who is more concerned about landing crits to gain bonus battlefield-control effects where the amount of damage done isn't nearly as important as triggering bonus effects (and sticking them with the Potency). If you're starved for speed, this mod would work okay on Dooku or Aayla, but with under 10 speed it's also a candidate to just sell.
The last mod is the Square, and it's a CC set with zero CC% on it. This should have been a hard sell without ever levelling past "reveal all secondaries."
I won't do more, but again, without talking about the quality of the hits, just mods where the set bonus doesn't match the stats or where the speed is below 10 and the mod is 5-dot gold and/or 6-dot we have quite a number of equipped mods on these first 4 toons that really ought to be sold. Every toon had at least one equipped mod that just doesn't deserve to live.
Presumably the unequipped 450+ mods the OP has are worse than the worst of the equipped mods, and that tells me that there's a huge amount of space to be claimed.
As always seems to happen, the actual mod inventories of ppl claiming that they need more space don't support the actual claim.
As a final disclaimer: There's nothing wrong with having some trash mods on toons you don't use. Going back to toons you haven't thought of in 3 years to clear out junk isn't fun, and I am absolutely positive that I have some really, really old mods on some characters somewhere that could really stand to be sold. The only thing wrong is bumping up against your mod cap and not using that as an excuse to get rid of mods that you saved 8 years ago when you didn't know better. Everyone has trash mods. Not everyone uses those trash mods as a reason why CG has to raise the mod cap.
Vet Han and Pilot have their uses. The others I agree with, though your suggestion is a workaround and not an intended solution

If I could, I would downvote you just for the "enuf".
There are plenty of trash toons that I know you're not using for anything that can hold the mod loadouts for future unlocks.
Ewok Scout, Hoth Rebel Soldier, NS Initiate, Ugnaught, Resistance Pilot, Mob Enforcer, Vet Han, Eeth Koth--do I need to keep going?
And don't bring up datacrons, dude. No one is using Ugnaught's lvl9. No one was using Mob Enforcer's lvl9. NS Initiate had one lvl9 in one set that made her relevant for 5 minutes.
I've got The Stranger's mods prepped and ready to apply, currently assigned to Ewok Scout. I didn't have to assign them anywhere, because I have plenty of open slots in unassigned inventory, but this way I know I won't accidentally sell one or be tempted to swap mods with someone else and have to build Stranger's loadout again.
I have no toons with empty mod slots, I work on mods all the time. I currently only have 86/500 unassigned mods because I regularly clean out the trash. How are you guys constantly and forever at max capacity? I do not understand. - DarjeloSalas2 days agoSeasoned Ace

What do you want back in salvage?
