But who's allowed this to happen? It's not like devs were not aware of the hoarding issue and letting it fly. Instead of managing the gear better they kept adding layers of gear requiring the same exact pieces to craft everything. Never adding incentives to use the accumulated gear, they tried once with TB deployment, but shot themselves in the foot with TW/GA matchmaking. Not to mention arena payouts, the scaling of rewards allows for few players to hoard tons of resources, when finishing in the top 50 gives 150 crystals and finishing 1 gives 500 which is more than 3 times the amount, and fleet didn't even reward past top 20 for a while, they added 50 crystals for top 50 and called it a day, while first place reward 400, it's no wonder hoarding became a thing. Some things could have easily been avoided but due to poor planning they didn't.

Where are the incentives for expanding your collection? The incredibly poor rewards for GA divisions? Is there even a real incentive for being division 1 instead of 2 and 3? No faction bonuses, no extra rewards for gearing non meta characters other than what? Titles? Does anyone even pay attention to these? Hey look I got my new portrait and a title! Yeah I don't think so. Hoarding undermines the creation of new content and the addition of new grinds, undermines alot if things and creates unrealistic standards which them push the developers to go to further extremes to catch these hoarders off guard, but if something is challenging even for hoarders then imagine how hard it must be for non hoarders!

Since when is hoarding an issue? Simply because you don't like it doesn't make it an issue.
As for there not being an incentive to expand your roster, i'm relatively sure that every player is actively trying to expand their roster.

Well, there are those dingdongs who are scared to make the next division on GAC.

only temporary because the will to expand one's roster always wins.
  • Hoarding is always an option in games like this. Is it the best strategy? If you have a 7 star r7 GAS you probably think so. For those of us who don’t have that we are happy that the number is few we are t likely to encounter one.
Hoarding a 70k of everything definitely takes a toll on what you are running out there in TWs and GACs and TBs. Hoarders are gambling that getting that next player right away is worth the trade off....ask their guild mates who are doing everything they can to get that next Star to benefit the whole guild.

I'd argue that hoarding yields a better result in the long run, atleast when done correctly. The whole point of hoading isn't to always have a lot of resources, the point is putting your resources to the best use. Putting your resources to the best use benefits your guild as well.
