- Is that it? A drive by, and split.? Not even a challenge worth responding to.

Having to poke away at my phone to write anything makes it difficult to express a thorough opinion; so I'll keep it short.
I think overall, most people can formulate their own opinions through their own personal experiences. However, i do believe the constant barrage of "negativity/complaints" in the forums can exacerbate what someone might have been feeling originally. I myself am not immune to this and have entertained the thought myself; how much of my opinion of the game is being affected by the forums? Honestly, I'm not sure.
What i am sure about is that I find myself having a mixture of agreement, disagreement and even sympathy. Sympathy such as the case with people struggling with gw. Though I have no trouble completing it now, i know what it's like to experience a difficult and often hellish gw.
What I find intriguing are the opinions that seem to take a direct stance against others. An almost superior "glow" that they have it all figured out, and that it's no big deal. Everyone else has it all wrong and are blowing everything out of proportion. These posts are often not helpful at all, as previously stated, and tend to only feed the very thing they claim to detest. I'm curious the motivation behind these posts.
The motivation is simple. I like this game, and I come to the forum to share, and instead I have to read so much garbage and negativity. I readily admit my response is perhaps not the healthiest, but can you blame me? I am human after-all. We all are, together. But the constant negativity about the game, the people who work at the company, the company itself has admittedly jaded my perspective to the point I am just giving some of it back because I don't want the devs to think everyone agrees with the outspoken majority on these forums. Your response was thoughtful, and I appreciate that. Maybe though I have fallen to the darkside, and don't know that I can be saved, at least not by anyone I've seen on these forums.- You wouldn't believe the crudeness of a private pm sent to me that I deleted. If the forum community wants to act like kids, I will treat em just like my own kids and challenge em to be better.

Sometimes it's hard for an individual to say, "I had a good idea" and be real enough to add, "and those ideas of mine right there were bad." We need to be honest enough to look in a mirror and see ourselves, if we ever want to be taken seriously. The motivation is pride. And no one is safe from that enemy.
There have been some pretty rough transitions of late, let's all give each other a little grace. "What?!"
Yeah, I said it. - Sadly... OP is not as smart as they think they are or claim to be.

Perhaps ... But, Op was wrong about groupthink, and Op's (and your) assumptions about motivation of the complaining player base are nothing more than that - an assumption, without anything backing it up. Forums don't break down when people complain about a commercial product. They do break down when posts like OP's start popping up.
Oh, and I can turn around and say that posts of complainers are also clearly the result of mishandled Mod patch.
This is just a horrible argument. We are debating something neither of us can proof, and you're dismissing it because its an assumption without anything backing it up. Your assumption that it is in fact not what is happening on the forum currently, isnt backed up either. We both made assumptions that neither of us can proof, so simply calling it an assumption is just a hollow argument that looks good on paper.
I admittedly dont have alot of experience with fora, so i couldnt tell you if the 90% complaint threads cause a forum to break down, or the 10% of those complaint threads that are complaining about the complaints. And one could easily argue that posts like the OP's dont start popping up when there isnt a lot of complaining in the first place. Cause and effect, and assumptions on what makes a forum break down.
Obviously the mod patch was mishandled, no one is even debating that fact. Its about the the severity of the negativity that doesnt reflect how bad it really is, and that the negativity works contagious and the forum keeps getting more and more negative allthough the game itself is in a status quo, how good or bad that may be.Where do you get the Highly Unlikely? Just guessing? Maybe it happened maybe not. Maybe 1% maybe 90% , without a way to prove it either way there is no argument to be had.
Agian, simply because i cant proof it doesnt mean it isnt happening. If i could actually proof it there wouldnt be an argument to be had. The whole "you cant proof prove it, so i dismiss it" attitude works really well to "win" in a discussion, but doesnt help neither of us. I assume you also would like a better game AND a healthier forum. We just disagree on how we can make that happen.
I think everything that could be said has been said on this topic. Lets just agree to disagree. Conclusion being that i think the sheer amount and severity of the complaint threads have a negative effect on the forum, and make it a less enjoyable place without actually benefitting the game. Toning those down a couple of nodges and leave room for constructive critisism would be better for the game and the forum.
You disagree with that, and thats fine."ImYourHuckleberry;578680" wrote:

@Maarek_Stele
My point wasn't about God, but someone said I thought a certain group of people were infallible. I was only stating that no one is perfect. I'll refrain from statements about a diety as I didn't realize how negatively that would be received.
