GAC squish

Shooting for three perfect rounds but will likely be facing folks in similar situation.  Likely be 5+ weeks of grind to get back.  The loss in crystal income is really frustrating.  Have decided not to spend anything even era pass until resolved or back to where I was.  I have recently lost interest and this GAC placement was just another straw on the overly burdened camel’s back.

Yeah I got dropped 93 points, but 254 is crazy. 

But, it's been two years now that people are getting bumped to the top of K1 and they still haven't fixed it.  It doesn't seem to be a high enough priority that 30+ players from the bottom get the top of K1.  Of course, it's only bad for players actually in K1...

Dude... That's wild. 

Even if you'll have an astonishing 8-1 season, you'll only be back where you started...

I don't think that's an intentional thing.  I also don't understand how it's actually connected to squish.  OK, it started happening when the 'fixed' the squish formula....but...I don't think it's actually squish doing it.

The 2 things preventing this are the hard-walls at the top and bottom of leagues and that they use it to artificially control the environment.  If we got rid of leagues (or at least had league/div changes managed equally) that would prevent the need for the first part.  However, If they did that, they'd need to totally revamp how we are placed. 

The second part is a lot trickier.  The amount of positive squish in Carbonite is huge; they fast-track players out of the lower divisions.  At the other end, how many Skill Points would Sashaisha have without being squished?  He'd be in the 10s of thousands by now!  It would also mean that getting into the top 8 would be quite tough, meaning that the top end players would see very little changes in their match-ups.

I guess there are ways to get around squish, but the fixes maybe less eloquent than the problem.
