Of course, it’s the best Star Wars mobile game on the market. People have also invested a lot of time and/or money into this game, which makes it even harder to walk away from. That fact is actually one of the driving factors for development decisions.
People can love the game and still have complaints or issues with development decisions. It’s not black and white, take it or leave it.
It is, though. Everyone will whine but they'll do the grind anyway. The devs will see everyone doing the event in their metrics and interpret that to mean that the event is great for engagement, and churn out more of the same.
The only way it changes is if people don't play the event, which won't happen.
