That being said, to OP: I think it's good that you try to change your attitude towards the game. It is supposed to be fun. If you want to spend money on it then it should be to make it more fun. I also don't see any way the enjoyment of this game can be increased by spending any sensible amount of money.
If you don't enjoy the game the way you played it, you only have two options: walk away or change your attitude towards it. I think changing the attitude is easier said than done, but definitely worth the try.
